A fabulous day of crafting and relaxation. Came away with some beautiful flowers and a reset away from all the usual distractions. The swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna are beautiful along with the surroundings .
I spent a wonderful day at Tanglewood Studio. The craft spa experience I booked was Powertex Highland Cow. On arrival I was met by the wonderful host Rachel, who explained all about the day’s activities. In the morning session we crafted a miniature version of a Highland Cow using Powertex. A medium that I had not used before, her explanation was very helpful. Then lunch was then provided, which was excellent . The afternoon session was spent in the spa, was very relaxing. I highly recommend these craft and spa experiences day. I am looking forward to my next one.
I had a wonderfully relaxing day at the lovely Tanglewood Studio hosted by Rachel . We made Easter wreaths from foraged materials , relaxed in the jacuzzi and pool and I loved the infra red sauna. We had a delicious afternoon tea in the garden to round off a marvellous experience. I can't wait to return soon.

Surrounded by nature, yet easily accessible, with direct trains from London, easy access from M25 and onsite parking, it offers that rare feeling of being away from everything… without the need to travel far.

A few things you might be wondering…
Do I need to be creative to enjoy Tanglewood?
Not at all. Lots of our guests arrive saying they’re “not creative”. Everything is explained step by step, the groups are small and friendly, and there’s no pressure to keep up with anyone else. The idea is to try something different, enjoy the making and go home with something you’re genuinely pleased with.
What happens on a Craft & Spa Retreat Day?
You’ll begin with a relaxed guided craft workshop, with all your materials ready for you. Afterwards, we slow things down with afternoon tea before you enjoy two hours in our private indoor spa, with heated pool, hot tub and sauna. Robe, slippers and towels are provided — you simply arrive and enjoy the day.
The full day runs 10am - 4pm.
Can I come on my own?
Absolutely. You’re very welcome to come by yourself, and our small groups are deliberately relaxed and welcoming. Equally, Tanglewood is lovely for a day with a friend, your mum, sister or daughter.
Is the spa private?
Yes. The spa part of your Craft & Spa experience is private to the Tanglewood group, so it feels very different from a busy hotel spa.
Where is Tanglewood?
We’re in Beare Green, near Dorking in the Surrey Hills, with free on-site parking. We’re also accessible by train from London, with Dorking stations a short taxi ride away.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes. We’re very happy to accommodate dietary requirements wherever possible. You’ll be asked to tell us about any allergies or dietary needs when you book, so we can prepare your food accordingly.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Bookings can be cancelled within 7 days of purchase. If you need to move your booking, you can reschedule up to 14 days before your experience, subject to availability, or transfer the booking to someone else.
Is Tanglewood suitable for guests with limited mobility?
Our studio is accessed by steps and unfortunately we do not currently have step-free access. If you have mobility requirements, please contact us before booking and we’ll happily talk through the layout with you so you can decide whether Tanglewood will be suitable for you.
Is there a minimum age for Craft & Spa Retreat Days?
Yes. Guests using our Craft & Spa Retreat experiences must be 16 or over.
